The Physician Higher Specialty Training website has just had an update of information to be relevant to 2024 recruitment. Additionally, we have published the Applicants’ Guide for round 1, which is available to be downloaded from the document library.

The website has detailed information to help you throughout the process, whilst the guide gives a summary to PHST Recruitment and is a good starting point for those who want an overview first.

If you cannot find the answer to a query, we have published FAQs to answer the most common queries but if you need further help please contact us.

Interview dates and post numbers

Interview dates are being received from the regions managing each specialty and will be published to the interview dates & posts section within each specialty's section of the website; the remaining interview dates will be added as received. In addition to this, the dates when each specialty anticipate requiring you to upload documentation to support your application scoring claims are also being published.

Provisional programme numbers will also be published there and, where possible, will be available in advance of the application opening date of 10am on Thursday 16 November 2023. Indicative vacancies not received by this time will be added as soon as they are received.

Assessment methods

All specialties follow a similar framework for assessment. Where they deviate is in the interview question areas and timing and whether the specialty will assess commitment to specialty at the shortlisting stage. Specialties are in the midst of confirming these details and so information about these specifics may change in the coming weeks. The 'interview & scoring' section of each specialty's will note where information has not yet been confirmed.

Good luck with your application
