East of England
The East of England (EoE) Deanery is made up of six counties – Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire (inc Peterborough), Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk (see Map). There are around 4,000 medical and dental trainees in the region serving a population of 5.6 million.
The EoE Postgraduate School of Medicine was established in late 2007, and draws together the training of all medical specialties along with the newly-developed CMT programme. For more information on the medical specialties programmes offered therein, please see this page: http://www.eoedeanery.nhs.uk/medical/page.php?page_id=630
We aim to inspire excellence in all our trainees to ensure our patient receive the highest standard of safe clinical care. The Deanery also maintains effective quality management of postgraduate medical and dental education and training, and promotes faculty development for our trainers.
The NHS in the East of England aims to be the best healthcare service in England; to do this, we need a highly-skilled and motivated workforce, delivering healthcare to a high standard within the framework of a patient-centred NHS.
