East Midlands (North)

The East Midlands (North) UoA covers the diverse areas of Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire, with bustling cities such as Nottingham and beautiful countryside such as the Peak District and the Lincolnshire Wolds.

The clinical experience you will get while training here is second-to-none. Programmes are structured so that you are exposed to a busy workload, but also gain fully from working in nationally- and internationally-recognised units.

For those interested in research, the University of Nottingham is one of only five UK institutions in medicine rated in the world’s top 30, and is the only institution in the UK to host three nationally-funded biomedical research units; so there are plenty of opportunities to undertake PhDs.  The School encourages out-of-programme experience in both research and teaching.

Round 2

East Midlands (North) is participating in 2010 Round 2 with vacant posts in endocrinology/diabetes and renal medicine (see table below). There are no vacancies remaining from 2010 Round 1, or scheduled to arise before 2011 Round 1, in cardiology, gastroenterology or geriatric medicine here.

* The East Midlands Deanery acts as one single Unit of Application in recruitment to renal medicine, and is not divided into 'North' and 'South' UoAs as is the case there within a number of other specialties.
